Today I woke up at around 8 am to get ready for class. We got our tests back today and no one failed so that was good news. Failing, by the way, is 76 percent. Aviation policy is pretty retarded.
At 1pm I had a math test. Differential Equations. It went okay I think. Not great, but I think I passed.
Also retarded on the aviation front, my 3:30 flight was maintanenced because they didn't have a Glass Warrior for us to use. So, I drove all the wait out to the airport and sat around for 45 minutes to have my flight canceled. Even more retarded: my flight instructor resceduled for 6:30 AM of Friday. Meaning I have to be at the airport by 6. So I have to get up at around 4:45 AM. That's early for me. No way I'm going to make duty day getting up that early but whatever.
Later though, I got to hang out with my buddy Dan. We went to Taco Bell, as usual, then went to Dairy Queen, and then came back to my house to play some Playstation. We played Bioshock until he got too creeped out. Then we watched a movie.
Now I'm going to talk with Tim on Skype for awhile, then go to bed. That's it for my day.

So far today SUCKS. Let me tell you why...
My day started at 4:45 AM when my alarm went off, signaling it was time to get up and prepare for my flight. 4:45 is really really early for me to be up. I didn't go to bed until about 12:30 so I didn't get a whole lot of sleep, but 4 hours is close enough to the requred 6 - 8 right? Anyways, after changing and eating a cup of applesauce, I got into my car and arrived at the airport at 6. The flight today was working on cross wind landings. This morning the wind was at 5 knots, practically calm, so he decided we wouldn't go. I got up for nothing. I went home and went back to bed. I got woken up by mom about 15 minutes later cause she was dying to know why I was here.
Later, I went to ground school. It was pretty uneventful. A normal day of notetaking and class was over. After that I ran home to grab my flight bag cause my flight was rescheduled to noon. I have class at one, but he assured me we would finish in time. So instead of lunch, I drove to the airport. He told me to get there when I was done with class so I got there at about 10:20. His earlier flight didn't even get back for another 20 minutes. My flight was at noon so we couldn't get a plane til 11:30. I was pretty pissed that I had to be there that early. I wanted food. So we got the plane early and took off at noon.
Down at Northwood, we had a direct crosswind. After doing 2 go arounds from the runway caused by getting blown of course by the wind, I got cut of by a crop duster. Those guys don't have radios and don't pay attention. Which is really stupid considering Grand Forks is one of the busiest airports in the country due to the high volume of student training operations. The surrounding areas and airports generally have a few planes in them. Anyway after getting cut off by this guy 3 times and being forced to take evasive action, we finally got to land.
After our second landing, just as we were about to back taxi down the runway so we could take off again, our engine died. For no reason. We started it back up and taxied off the runway. It took forever because a crop duster trying to take off cut us off and wouldn't move. After about a half hour of phone calls and a discussion with the mechanic over there, it was determined that the engine quit because it was too hot out and sometimes if you bring the throttle back to idle, the engine can't wind down fast enough, and stalls out and shuts itself off. So we flew back, landed, all was well.
All was well except that I had now missed math class and was 20 minutes late for work. I called my boss, who is also my best friends mom, and explained to her what had happened. She was pissed cause I was supposed to be in at 2 and she had a hair appointment at 230. She told me to rush, so here I am going 70 in a 55 zone and accelerating when I see flashing lights in front of me. Thank god he was pulling over a car already. After slowing my pace a bit, and maneuvering around a slow tractor, I got to work 40 minutes late. My boss had got someone to cover for her for a few minutes so she wasn't in when I got here.
Now I'm at work, eating a some crackers and drinking juice waiting until I can go home so I can eat my first real meal of the day, which will be at around 7:15 and typing this up with a sore hand. Apparently if you punch metal objects, your hand will feel it the next day. After I get to eat and stuff, I get to sit down and do homework and plan a cross country flight for tomorrow, which is crammed into my day right after I get off work, if not, before I'm scheduled to be off work. On the plus side though, Tim is online so I get to chat with him while I work.
So far though, this day blows. All I have to say is: FML.
